On switching on lens folds out then retracts back into body repeatedly (6 second cycle)

No buttons work - can only be switched off by removing battery.

Worked fine previously this started after 2 month non use.

Hi,

It sounds like there's an issue with the lens. Most likely something blocks a function of the lens (e.g. the shutter in front of the lens). I would recommend to send the camera to a repair centre so they can inspect it.

Easier said than done. 

1st step to repair a Sony product on their site 'Select a Product' 4 options are Television Headphones Mobile and Sound bar No option for Camera so you cannot progress any further there.

Any suggestions?
