I own a DSC-H3 and recently bought a DSC-HX60 thinking I would get better quality images. The images from the HX60 are like poor quality JPEGs with blotchy colours when you zoom in. The H3 has a far better quality of image with a smoother image. I am happy to email comparison shots to demonstrate the problem. I can't find any options that correct the problem. I'm hoping there's just a problem with my camera, and that this is not the quality of images one gets from the Exmor sensor.
Well, after all HX60 is a point and shoot/every day/walk around camera!
Look, I believe that each and every photo that comes out of that camera, needs a kind of a minimum post-processing.
Try to remove the jpeg noise, go on with a low level of pseudo-hdr and add some film looklike noise:
