STR-DN 1080 update fails

Got the message on the receiver itself, there's a new firmware

M41.R.0445

tried to update via the receiver itself, but the update fails. Had to press cancel, and the receiver restarted. The new update is also not available on the official website for a manual download for an USB-transfer.

anyone else with the same issue?

Update to my original post:

After downloading the files (uk-site) I re-checked the usb-stick in Win10 and did the manual update after failing via WiFi. Worked like a charm, took about 2 minutes.

Stay safe, people!

It's available on the UK site. I'm not sure if this one will work with all EU units though. I would download the previous firmware from your country's website just in case the new one ...err breaks something.

I can confirm I'm having exactly the same issue, I am in the UK with a UK receiver.  Fails on every attempt, but still keeps displaying a message on every start-up that there is an update.  I've downloaded the firmware, but waiting to see if the internet approach clears itself up before going the route of USB.

It failed for me via WiFi internet connection her in uk,,

It downloaded the file but refused to install.

Kept getting error occurred message.

I downloaded the updated zip file, extracted and made a file named update, which contains 4 files.

Copy or send file to formatted (NTFS) memory stick, NOTE: not fat or fat 32, I tried both and got errors again.

IT TOOK 3-4 MINS TO UPDATE.

Had the same issue again as well, but after a few tries and a thorough format and a check of the USB stick, formatted with FAT32 did the trick.

Alas, the Chromecast and Bluetooth receiver functions don't work properly after the update, intermittent hangs and stuttering lead to  occasional restart from time to time, so a full reset might be in order.

Yup, factory reset might be needed. The hassle is recalibrating and accepting Chromecast agreement, etc.

Hey there,

Yea that is really annoying, also it might take a few tries, but mostly you can do it using a USB stick: https://bit.ly/3wdS83g.

Cheers.
