My tv offered the above firmware as an update last nigth (8th May 2014) which I've applied.

Today 9th May there is still nothing online regarding this update on official Sony websites - which is fairly poor.

Can someone outline what is in this firmware release?

Hi there

Information about an update normally takes about a week or two.  If there is nothing glaringly obvious, its more than likely a bug fix.
