Sony DVD Reorder RDR HXD 890

My DVD Recorder HXD 710 developed a fault after 10 years use and I have replaced it with a used HXD 890 which is in mint condition and works perfectly. However when I press programme Guide I get a message saying "This function is not available now". Can someone please tell me how I can activate it. It works on my old machine and on my neighbour's HXD 860.

Be sure you are on the DTV input, this message is normally shown when you are on a different input (i.e. L1/L2)
