Should i be worried, apparently complaints are comming in already for this new tv on dark verticle lines either side of the screen!, i have seen this before on the LG i had that went back for a full refund as it was the area where the ribbon cable joins at the screen for the backlight (could be seen from the front) i had 3 of them and the engineer said its not right, heres the pics of the Sony.

Edited links to work properly (originally double http)
Certainly is strange, Sony have washed their hands of us, stuck their head in the sand.
The TV did come with the Monolith stand, still boxed and of no use to me.
yep definitely feels like Sony are just ignoring this now and hoping to just sell these to people that aren't really going to look too closely or don't use the internet to research purchases.
as i said before its F1 team approach....realise the car you built is no good, realise there's nothing you can do to resolve and just focus efforts on making next years car better.
not sure what else we are all supposed to think really. the manufacturer refuses to make any official statement about the issue or if it will be resolved or even attempt to convince us its "as designed" and chooses instead to just say nothing officially.
oh well. i'm still going to go see another unit mid august when the next batch come in to see if they are better but having had two already i was kind of hoping the manufacturer would have come out with a statement by now.
Got a message from Sony support to contact Startthecar for my crease issue. Have sent him a couple of messages but haven't heard from him yet ?!?!? is it because of the holiday season?
Despite my replacement set having minor creasing I have to say the picture is amazing. I've managed to watch a couple of Bluray films recently and I keep being blown away by the picture.
Although the creases aren't really that visible during normal viewing they do cause some 'yellowing' at the edges of white scenes. It is a bit hard to describe but where it should be white it is kind of dirty around the edges. This only happens in the top corner and at the bottom where the creases are.
Whilst this panel is a vast improvement over the old one it is still not perfect!
norks27,
thanks for the confirmation on the stand.
yes i believe its holiday season, i know that they shut the factory down for that period but i believe the sony staff in the uk are still about (somewhere) probably busy playing catch up!
I cannot believe that Sony has not got a detailed engineering reason of what is wrong with this tv.
I work in the electronics manufacturing industry and we have even manufactured products for Sony.
When things go wrong and they do you get an analysis done in hours, and a corrective action in place the next day.
I am contacting you regarding your replacement order of your Sony BRAVIA television.
Our couriers DHL have your order and have been trying to contact you to schedule a suitable delivery date; however they have been unable to reach you on the number provided.
well lets see if they have remembered to send the compensation glassess, anyone want to place a bet?.
if this one turns up with the sticky problem, i'm thinking money back time and try the new lg.
Odds are it will have a dent problem if it gets thrown around in the back of a DHL van much longer!!
I now know the cause of the crease!!!!
If you watch the Sky advert where you can watch sky on your phone, The guy takes the TV off the wall and folds it up so surely it must get a crease:smileylaugh: Maybe Someone in Sony manufacturing kept trying it. LoL .
Hi All
Has anyone any good news this weekend with regards to finding crease free sets ???
