activating the microphone
Hello,
I deactivated the microphone (control panel, sound, recording tab), and I can't find any way to activate it again. Now, everything simply looks like no microphone was ever there.
Any one knows how to activate it again?

hi BJEUNHOMME,
welcome to club vaio,
first of all check you have the latest sound update 'SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC'. If you have go to control panel, speech recognition options, then set up microphone and select built in microphone. Hopefully this should enable it again
Good luck, Mark.

Hi and thank you for your answer.

I am not sure how to do that, but, if it is related, I don't see anything that resembles this in the windows update history.
If you have go to control panel, speech recognition options, then set up microphone and select built in microphone
When I do so, I get an error popup that says "Impossible to start wizard".

I finally found a solution to this. I give it here, just in case someone needs it someday :=)
Here is the recipe: right click on the icon of the speaker in the system tray, and choose "recording devices", a box opens and displays a list of available recording devices (which will most likely be empty if the microphone is deactivated). Right click where the microphone should appear, and select "show disabled devices". Then, the device appears. Now, it is possible to activate it by right clicking on it.
