Battery light not lit

Should the battery light be lit while my laptop is plugged in ? I have just bought a Vaio SVE1513M1E and not sure if it is faulty

Hi lisa120779 and welcome.


The orange battery light should only be lit while the Vaio is connected to AC Power and the battery is charging. It will turn off when the battery pack is fully charged or if you are using battery power only.


In battery mode, it will blink if the battery pack is running out of power.
