Battery light remains the same

When I initially switch the laptop on the battery shows charging but once the main screen is showing it reverts to showing "not charging" but the battery remains at 80% and does not go down or up apart from when its on battery power only.

As the charge remains the same I can only assume it works fine with mains power but WHY won't it charge the battery to 100% and show the battery as charging ?.

Hi Igourlay,

This is normal - you have the battery care function enabled.

You can change settings for this in Vaio Contol Panel > Power Management > Battery Charge Functions > Advanced.
