BIOS or Motherboard Problem for Laptop Sony VGN-CR21S/P

Hi Sony professionals.

I have a Laptop Sony vgn cr21s/p i have some unexplained things going on with it. One night i recharged the laptop and when i woke up it wont load the system at all it boots up then it takes me to the screen windows starting then it fails to install any further . I tried to reinstall the operating system then it fails to go through the installation the hard drive was working fine at the time then it started to make some clicking noise then i tried to use it as an external hard drive. It was seagate 160gb 5400 but no other computer will detect it. when pluged into another pc it says the hard disc need to be formated so u can use it again but when try to format it it says cannot be formated. I used another hard disc 500 gb seagate 5400 then the same problem happened with my brand new hard disk when installed on this laptop it goes through the installation then it fails to go anyfurther and now i cant use them both r screwed up by sony laptop. I cant use them as As internal or external anymore. The battery went basted now after this problem as it wont keep nor even 10 minutes after fully charge, the dvd rw seems to work ok the cpu sounds ok too, the memory ram seems to be fine too but it sounds to me like motherboard problem or bios was screwed up after a sony update i had. Can u send me some correct and professional information regarding my problem and how can this be resolved without sending it to sony for repair. Do u think that BIOS crashed from the update and can i reflash its bios somehow and give me the webside address where i can get the firmware for my bios phoenix so i can reflash it or update its firmware. What do u think about this problem i am having. what is causing this problem and how can it be solved by my self. i think its bios or motherboards problem but mostly bios update screwed it up i think. please help me with any sugestion u have as professionals of Sony. Thank u. Bez
