Hi Patrick
The correct model is SVE1512B1EW and you can find the support pages here: -
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/sve1512b1ew
Here is the correct Recovery Manual but I don't think it is any different: -

You can try making a set of Recovery Discs by following the instructions for 'Create Recovery Media'. If this is successful, you can try using the discs to recover to factory settings.
You can also try the Recovery from the Recovery are again - what error messages do you get?
If neither of these work, the recovery partition is probably corrupted or destroyed and all you can do is contact Sony Support and purchase a replacement set of recovery discs.
its windows 8 and im trying to reset it back to factory settings. how do i no what model it is and this is what it says on receipt sony eh15.6"13
Hi Patrick.
I can't work out the exact Vaio Model but it looks like it is an E-Series Vaio with 15 inch screen built in 2013. The model will be similar to the SVE1513H1E.
To return this model to factory settings follow the instructions 'to recover from the recovery area' in the Troubleshooting and Recovery Guide which you can download here: -
http://download.sony-europe.com/pub/manuals/consumer/4445107111.pdf
Do not use the 'Refresh your computer' option.
i pressed the assist button when i turned it off went on recover or maintain system then troubleshoot reset pc all drivers fully clean then it said there was a problem resetting your pc the model number sve151j11m on back of laptop there was a different one on the screen when on to bio when i started it is sve1512b1ew
