HELP CANNOT GET Sony Vaio FS to conect to Samsung TV

I have just purchased a new samsung TV But on conneting together via the screen port on the VAIO and PC port on the Samsung TV with a D cable nothing happens
Any body have any advice.

Hi,

I've only tried this via a HDMI cable, but it worked. Have you selected 'Source' on your remote control? You would need to select the correct output on both the laptop as well as the TV. If the TV picks up the laptop connection, it will provide an additional 'source'.

Hi,
The source selection does not highlight so cannot choose, this is also true of the PC selection so cannot choose.
The vaio detects the Samsung TV.

I had the same problem with my FE41z and samsung tv. For some reason the laptop wasn't detected by the telly when it was connected and as you know the tv won't display a particular source if there's nothing detected using it. I eventually sorted it by downloading the latest nvidia drivers. Strangely it did detect the laptop if it was plugged in from boot but lost it again when OS was loaded.
