How to copy recovery partion?

I changed the disk in my Vaio VGN-SZ3 and now I do not have Recovery partion in my C: drive. Can I copy this partion from old disk? Any idea how to re-create recovery partion?

Hi

Recovery partition is not copiable (till now) from HDD to HDD. So you will need to use your recovery DVD's (if you created them) otherwise technical support will be glad to sell you those famous DVD's (for around 42 euros).

I'm not sure if the recovery partition can be copied to your new HDD and then accessed with the Vaio recovery partition..

Another option you could try, if you purchase something like Acronis True Image you should be able to create backup image..

Depending on what you have created a backup image of, you should then be able to restore your Vaio Operating system, applications, user settings, and all your personal data onto your new HDD to as it was when you created the image..

Not even with Partition Magic? Or Acronis?

Acronis will make a recoverable image of all partitions - including the Recovery Partition.
