Motion Eye Camera with Windows Live Messenger

We couldn't start your camera device. Please check that your camera is not currently in use by another program, and then try again.

This is the message that appears when I attempt to send webcam.
I've checked in Device Manager and my "Sony Visual Communication Camera" is enabled (that's the motion eye, right?)

I've searched for new harware and it's all up to date too, plus I only got the laptop today.

If it helps the laptop is VAIO NS Series (VGN-NS20E)

I've tried opening the camera in other programmes too, but nothing is detected.

Please help me,
Thanks

I had this problem and I assume that you are using McAfee Security which blocks access to the camera when you try to set up the audio / visual settings. You need to uninstall the latest version of live messenger. Then go to Microsofts download website and download the 2008 version of messenger. I think that you find it will then work.

Good luck.
