VGN-FE31M DVD/CD drive

I salute you all,

I have a Vaio notebook, FE31M, for 16months now. Last week the DVD/CD drive stopped reading or playing any CD or DVD, when i go to device manager, it seems not to recognize the problem. it says the device is ok. I have deinstalled and rebooted the comp, and vaio reinstalled it, but still not working.

Anybody has an idea how i can solve the problem or i have to hand it in for check-up?

I will really appreciate your assistance.
