Hi all,
For work reasons, I have installed Windows Vista x64 (Ultimate) on to my Vaio laptop that originally shipped with Windows 7. I've got all the drivers to work happily, but I am not having any fun with the hotkeys.
I have tried the Windows 7 ones available from Sony's website but that throws up several errors during the installation and I am still unable to control brightness or volume from the function keys.
If anyone is willing to pass on any useful information that would be great. The system is a VPCEB1S0E.
Many thanks in advance,
Nick
Hi Nick,
As you have discovered Sony do not support this model for downgrade to Vista and this applies to all VPC models.
Your only hope is to try the utilities from a model that was released with both Win 7 and Vista - such as the VGN-AW11XU/Q.
You will need to install the SFEP driver (from within Device Manager) followed by Sony Shared Library, Setting Utility Series, Vaio Event Service and Vaio Control Center..
I have no clue as to whether these will install but it is worth a try.
