I like it also, but current sony implementation is bad because it moves other icons to the left from network icon when showing the arrows. Previously it was implemented better.

The smartphone is always accessing the network and all the icons are moving left and right. Users called this invention from Sony "Accordion". And Sony must get rid of it as soon as possible!!!

Tired of this ugliness already!!!
Each new update Android 8.0 Oreo-another ugliness. Better simply remove the accordion from the status bar!

There is a simple solution for this behaviour that can be found on XDA developers.:smileyhappy:
Don't remeber where however.:smileysad:

I repeat my question: when does Sony plan to remove the accordion from the status bar?

I would be very surprised if Sony ever did this, as it can't be considered a serious operational flaw.

For me it is a very big drawback. And it's not the taste, but the fact that this endless movement to the left and right of all the status bar icons are very tired eyes. If I knew it was waiting for me after upgrading To Android 8.0 Oreo would never upgrade. My girlfriend has the same smartphone. I told her to stay in the Android 7 and jealous of her every day! Android 8.0 from Sony-disgusting!!! The Sony representative in this forum acknowledged the problem and concerns of users with this ridiculous accordion. But this man disappeared somewhere, and the problem remained.

So the man has to come back and the problem has to disappear.
Did you try the solution I mentioned before.
It solves your problem but it doesn't bring back the man.
I agree with you that this movement is not good software development and I agree as well that it should have been repaired by now.
Minus point for Sony software developers and a minus point that they don't watch and react to some serious complaints on the forum.

There was no security update this month. I suppose there will be no more firmware updates for the X Compact at all, because the device has reached its 2 years anniversary after the introduction in september 2016. Sony 's update policy for mid-end and high-end mobile devices is to stop firmware updates after 2 years.
