Finger print unlock issue

Finger print unlock issue

I registered two of my fingers on my phone.

Seemed to work for a while and then more or less stopped working.

So I decided to re register my fingers, but it says that I must use a existing finger to unlock and proceed!!! Which I can't do because they don't work and is the reason I am doing this!!!

How stupid is that!!!

How can I fix this please?

Strange, hopefully that won't happen again.

Well you need to confirm the actual fingerprints to add others, I don't think that's too stupid as it seems like an extra security feature. Try to wash your hands, make sure you are not sweaty and keep them dry. Also, the sensor might need some cleaning.

Well, it's certainly not my fault that it's stopped working. I'll just add this to my ever expanding list of issues which I won't bore you all with.

Thanks for your comment anyway.

@152bobby But why don't you try my suggestion? It might help.

Based on what I have read on the forum, cleaning my hands (not implying I don't, but you know what mean) and cleaning the sensor was the first thing I tried before submitting my post.

If there is no way round this, I will continue using my pass code.

Worst scenario example!!!! What happens if someone injures their finger or God forbid loses it!!!

Well in that case I think you should have your device examined if you think the unlock doesn't work as supposed to.

Luckily I had my wife's finger as a back up and it let me in. So I have re registered 2 of my fingers and it works again.

No clue why it stopped, as I haven't changed my two fingers since the last time I done it. Slightly_smiling_Face
