Chromecast not working on Android 8

I have the Sony KD65-A9F Oled TV. With the latest firmware and software installed.

No matter what I do,  I cannot get Chromecast built in to work!

Does anyone else have a similar problem?

I can cast to the TV from any cast enabled app,  and the TV goes into “casting” mode, but then all I get is the infamous “spinning wheel” and “ready to cast” message...but no video ever appears!

i have done a full TV reset, and following this reset, Chromecast works perfectly....just once, and thereafter the same problem reappears!

i have an NVidia Shield running the same Android TV operating system, and the Chromecast built in works perfectly with the shield...on the same network, using the same casting devices.

the problem. Is clearly an issue with the Sony TV, and I am not very impressed with the Sony technical support response...”just use your Shield”!

Sorry...this is a standard template response, which does not provide a
solution!
In my earlier posts on this I stated that I have already visited this
support article, and tried the suggestions...to no avail!

I have spoken to Sony Tech Support who have used the “remote support”
facility and confirmed for themselves that Chromecast isn’t working!

They have also given me the standard platitudinous response saying this
issue has now been referred to “Senior tech support” which I suspect is
Sony corporate speak for....”we have no idea why this isn’t working, and
as we don’t have a template response, we are going to ignore you....”

Not good enough Sony!

Hi Peter,

For for assistance we would then recommend getting in touch with the Sony support team who will be able to update you further here.

Best wishes,

This is a typical ridiculous response!!!!

I HAVE been in touch with Sony "Support" team!
I have said this is the case in my posts already....

It was the non support from the "Support team" which caused me, in
exasperation, to post and see if could get help on this community....
