Hi

  • Can anyone tell me why this tv constantly says Ethernet not connected.

When I watch Netflix it constantly goes off and the only way I can get it on is to unplug the Ethernet cable from the router and plug it back in.

Hi @ushert   Unfortunately I believe the latest software performs constant network error diagnostics. In my case I linked the Ethernet not connected messages to an unmanaged switch which I replaced and the error messages went away. I don’t really know, I am only guessing. 🙉

Thanks for the reply but it does not help because it actually does disconnect making it impossible to watch Netflix, think a call to Sony is due as I also get a lot of screen flickering on bright , striped or chequered images.

oh gosh this TV is driving us crazy

 

I have done manually the last software update since the automatic would not work to my KD55AF8 (software version PKG6.6520.0252EUA) hoping the TV software would improve. I am so disappointed..

 

Screen mirroring that before was working at least with my smartphone now doesn't work anymore. I have tried with other devices as well and nothing works (even with the latest devices on the market). Now when I try to connect with a wireless screen wifi connection stop works

Browser still useless

Screen saver mode completely wrong resolution and the "Chromecast built in" on the left bottom side of the screen saver mode is cut out from the screen

Sony... £2000 pounds of TV and this is the result?

I do not undesrtand which major fault you have on your 2000 pound tv that has excellent picture quality... screensaver? mirroring?

in anycase the mirroring via miracast has been always a nightmare due to a standard that is not a standard. If you have an android smartphone you can in any case bypass any problem installing the Google Home app and try the mirroring via that app. It is faster and more reliable. Browser (if any one think that is useful to use a tv to navigate internet) is not that bad, but you can install and try any other available on the store (puffin is reported as the best on Android tv).

Do not know what do you mean by wrong resolution on screensaver, on mine KD55A1 those image from Google are breathtaking... time to try a reset avoiding what you can have set up wrongly?
