Hello,
I am new here and try to get some help.
I own a HDR-CX250EW and the data code is only to activate or not in a menu before I can playback the recorded material.
I want to activate the data code sporadic during the playback, as it was possible with my old camcorder.
I think this is possible with the remote control ? The remote control only is possible for the HDR-PJ models ? Or maybe also already for the HDR-CX260 ?
Goal has to be to show the data code during the playback and not only needing to go into menu..
Thanks ! 🙂

I'm assuming you mean the IR remote control?
IR remote control is available on the PJ260, PJ580 and PJ600, but the CX260 and others in that range only come with an A/V remote port, to which you connect a remote commander such as those found on some Sony tripods.
I'm not sure a wired remote would work for your purposes, as they tend to have quite limited controls. The CX range uses an AV2 controller: http://bepixelung.org/img/4/2/4/20424.png
I'm guessingthe answer for you is to get a model in the PJ range

HI tomjojo, welcome to the Sony Forums
Are you trying to switch the on-screen date/time display so that it records, or for playback only?
Mick
hi,
you can activate the data code only for the playback. It is recorded always (in background) and at playback you can let it show or not let it show.
But this activation needs to be done before the playback, for the whole scene..
But I want to let it show only for some seconds per scene and not for a whole scene.. This is possible with the remote control, but I do not know from which model on the handycams have the remote control..
