Should i be worried, apparently complaints are comming in already for this new tv on dark verticle lines either side of the screen!, i have seen this before on the LG i had that went back for a full refund as it was the area where the ribbon cable joins at the screen for the backlight (could be seen from the front) i had 3 of them and the engineer said its not right, heres the pics of the Sony.

this was originally posted on another forum and the poster stated that this is reported by german customers and uk ones, however i have been waiting months for my pre order and dont have it yet!!

very sorry mate, got you mixed up with bign55 !, go and have a chat with your dealer, say you will do one swap out and if thats not right ask for your money back, gotta be worth a shot,
my dealer is holding out for the sept shipment, he feels we my get a better set then now all the first batch has died off.
been living with mine a week now, and well happy, the "fault" is not visible on normal pictures, even a blue sea, just one awesome looking set.
the last of my long line of issues is, how the hell do you get a 6 year warranty!!!!!! aaarrrh.
and before someone says it, there is no card to fill in. all you get is a bit of folded paper printed in blue, saying go online, which i have done, but that does not say how long the warranty is. i bought straight from sony.
help ticket created at sony = ignored.
will them stress of ownership ever end.

you have to fill out a form(in my case printed off the internet by my dealer) and send it off to get your guarantee certificate which will come from-

In all fairness sets exchanged by Sony CIC, should have left instuctions on how to exchange the warranty to relate it to the set you have decided to keep!

really glad your happy with yours now, thats just what i need for mine that kind of tolerance, my dealer knows what to do, its just a waiting game now,

Cannot believe that Sony hasn't stopped yet the production to correct this issue.
It's a lot of money to allow this kind of faults.

Most disappionting.
I am from Norway and got my set in early July. I have followed this thread with great interest since my TV also have the creases. Comming from the x3500, I must say this is an impressive TV - except from the creases which I'm 100 % sure never should have been there.
It is most disappointing Sony choose to name this a small problem when it really is a huge 'scratch' in their flagship.
@hainor, adding to your disappointment... here is the recent reply I got from Sony Support on the issue I raised regarding the crease. Not only are the palming off the problem to dealers, they have decided to call it a "feature"....;-)

be simpler to fix it properly and call it " perfect "!.

Hi, no actual date yet other than a shipment due in september, i am still awaiting this myself and will post if i hear any more first.
