I have an VGN-N38E model Vaio with on bored GMA 950 GFX card and 945GM express chipset family. I recently downloaded and installed some new drivers from Intel and they have now caused a flickering while playing computer games. Also my fps have droped alot and the screen will go blank for a serious of seconds and then catch back up with itself.
I went to fomat the laptop and reinstall Vista but there was niether no cd with the computer and when i use the Vaio Recovery tool it says that the partition has been deleated.
I would like to give the whole computer a fresh start and go back to facotry orginal, or at least get my gfx working properly again. Any help?
Hi Bandages and welcome to Club Vaio.
Which XP Graphics driver do you have installed? There is a new one Version 14.32.4, Dated 26/FEB/2008 available from here which may be worth trying: -
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2301&OSFullName=Windows*+...
Have you got Daemon Tools or Norton Ghost installed? These can give the 'Deleted' message.
Check to make sure your Recovery Partition has been deleted: -
Start -> Right-Click 'My Computer' -> Manage -> Disc Management
Is it still shown?
If it is gone, you will have to contact Sony Vaio-Link Support and buy a replacement Recovery Disc Set for about £30 from here: -
