can anyone recomend a good replacement DVD RW rive to replace a DW-D56A as i have finally had enough of trying to get it to work proparly thanks?

Any drive with the form factor 5.25" x 1/6H (Slim Line) will fit.

The Sony DW-D56A is a 'badged' Lite-On drive, so you may find that the faceplate that matches the body of your Vaio can be switched onto a new Lite-On drive.
