vgn-fz11m overheating problems

Can anybody tell me what is average and max. temperature for cpu core, also when I play a game or use a photo-editing software my vaio is extremely hot under the thouch-pad (on the opposite side to keyboard). It's so hot that sometimes is hard to touch it with a hand.
I would be most grateful for any info on that subject. Do I have to send it to service?

Hi kobe2005 and welcome to Club Vaio.

I'm afraid most modern laptops get very warm under load these days.

Download PC Wizard 2008 and have a look at your temperatures for CPU & HDD & GPU.

Generally speaking your CPU should be between 50 and 70 degrees depending on the load. It will cut out at 90 degrees to prevent damage and your Vaio will shut down.

If it gets above 70 degrees, try using compressed air to clear the ventilation ducts. If this does not work then you may need to take the Vaio apart and clean the vents.
