Windows XP language version

Hi all,

I've got a VAIO laptop with Windows XP Home on November 2006 in Germany. Of course, the version of Windows XP OS in Deutschland. (my model is VGN-FS 485B)

And now, I need to use my notebook with English Windows XP OS and I should re-install the OS. However, I would like to use the default applications (in recovery partition) such as Click to DVD, Adobe Acrobat Elements, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements, Click to DVD, DVGate Plus, Memory Stick Formatter, Microsoft Works, Norton Internet Security, PictureGear Studio, Roxio DigitalMedia SE 7, SonicStage, Ultimaco PrivateDisk Easy, VAIO Edit Components, VAIO Media, VAIO Update, WinDVD for VAIO,...

What should I do?

Thanks for your help.

(sorry for my bad English)

Leo Clark,

Click on the link below to found the...

VGN-FS485B - Preinstalled Drivers and Utilities

VGN-FS485B - Drivers and Updates

Also, I would like to suggest for you to create the "RECOVERY DISCS" from your laptop. Normally, you must create the discs, after receive the computer or after to perform the full recovery.

Thank itbroker!
I installed new installation with English Windows Xp and downloaded the driver on VAIO homepage (support), but in my favour, I want to use original VAIO software. The VAIO hompage doesn't support these apps.

Thanks for your help, thalamus. I will try out.

Hi thalamus,

I tried to do something follow your help, but the result isn't good.

I unpacked all files from the Applications Recovery DVD using kcap program,

Firstly, I copy sony.pac, sony2.pac, sony3.pac, sony4.pac and kcap.exe to folder SONY (C:\SONY)
I used the command:
C:\SONY\kcap.exe F:\sony.pac C:\SONY\

F drive is DVD drive.

after unpacking, there were 2 new folders in SONY folder: AppCD, JPBL-002007
In JPBL-002007 there are 2 types of files: .pkg and .arp

I can't find the setup program or similiar method to install these applications.

In AppCD folder, view Apps.lst with notepad:
"Adobe Photoshop Elements" SP-010841-00.apr
"Adobe Reader" SP-009703-00.apr
"Memory Stick Formatter" SP-005054-04.apr

Hmmm usualy using kpac should give you folders containing all the files you need to install the applications..

Then reading the .ini file or even right clicking the on the setup.exe file, then select the version tab (if it's there), then click product name in each of the directories should help to figure out what each application that folder contains..:smileyconfused:

The click Setup.exe to install..

If this is not the case then try using KPAC again..
