Latest Sony Android Update

I have updated my operating system to the latest update.
This has pretty much wrecked what was a great TV.
the TV had initial power on issues, then no picture, then picture and no sound.
I have soft-booted multiple times, and the TV seams a lot better, but it is now very temperamental, either with picture or sound not working, or the remote becoming useless.
After reading plenty of posts, I feel Sony have placed a bug into the update, a service patch would be a good idea.
I have gone from enjoying my TV to wondering what will happen every time I turn it on.
I have also now noticed as mentioned by some others that BBC iPlayer is missing from my apps menu.
With most TVs I would expect itv, 4 and channel 5 players.
In have a TV stick which is still working fine, but a slight overload on the TV, and have to power off at the socket.
I find this unacceptable from Sony that no response can be found, or that they are doing nothing
Very disappointed.
The TV is a Sony Bravia 55” KD-XF75, only 3 months old.
Be very careful when considering buying any android TV.

After the update, the youtube loses its sound.

I have also experienced this problem on my Android TV after downloading the latest software update yesterday. This is the Android 7.0 (Nugget) TV update - Samba Interactive TV. Our sound is uncontrollable from the remote and the TV and is stuck on one setting although the sound bar is going up and down. Tried using information on Sony to disable Samba but we do not seem to have the particular setting to disable it.

Same here. KD49 TV. Downloaded latest update. Volume on programmes set by the guide is on a fixed volume. No mute control. No sound available on any other app ie you tube ,Netflix. However sound is available on apps via bluetooth headphones.

My KD43 has been trying to run some sort of update since Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday afternoon I had no sound when switching on and no other function on the remote control. Downloaded an app to act as remote and it worked for a very short time then screen froze when searching help topics and had to reboot several times. Looked like it was trying to update on and off the rest of Thursday night, and yesterday when switching on with remote or power button at back it just switches itself back off immediately. Under 3 years old, had no previous issues. Looking like a new tv for me.

Hi
I have now been in touch with Sony support.
After a lengthy test he suggested that I needed a factory reset.
I have completed this, and fingers crossed, so far so good.
But it does take the shine off the TV.
Just a note, iPlayer still missing from apps, but I am sure I can download it.
Thank you.

Hi @TSTW13

You will find all the Players in Sony Select. Just make sure Sony Select is enabled to display on the Home screen. You cannot download it as it is part of the base operating system.

Thank you.
I will give that a go.
Be nice to have the TV back to normal.
